"Sirens (Amphibians Feeding)" contemporary figurative paintingAs a boy, I watched a Congo Eel hunting crawfish in a ditch. I also kept sirens in gallon jars where I watched them eat the earthworms I fed them. They would attack the worms by aggressive biting and spinning around violently in the same way an alligator stuns its prey.
