Fauvism and Experiments with Color

Fauve is a French term for wild little beasts. That is how the French art critics described a group of modern artists who used intense colors.  I have been looking at the work of contemporary artist Martina Shapiro for inspiration.The following paintings include some successful and not-so-successful experiments with intense color.
